Newly Admitted Students

This is the step-by-step path to follow to ensure a great start to this exciting journey at SPU. The section brings together, in one place, all the key resources and information to support our new students as they take their first steps within the University. Below, you will find a curated list of essential resources and helpful links to guide you through the next stages of your journey.

1. Access uoZone

UoZone is the student portal for Saint Paul University and the University of Ottawa. You will need to access this portal to create and manage your student email account and uoCampus.

To obtain your uoZone username and password, you must complete the Information Technology Services request form and ask for your account to be activated, along with a temporary username and password.

You may also call the University of Ottawa Communications Service at 613-562-5000, and select the option for general inquiries. During the call, request your uoZone/uoCampus password.

2. Access UOCampus

You can access uoCampus through your uoZone account. uoCampus is the portal that allows you to access and manage student services, including:

  • Course registration
  • Tuition fee invoices and billing information
  • Personal information
  • Unofficial transcripts

To log in, simply use the same username and password as your uoZone account.

3. Access your student email box

You can access your email through uoZone using the same username and password. It is important to check this email account regularly, as communications regarding your academic journey will be sent to this address.

Please note that your email account will be generated within 48 hours after you register for at least one course.

NOTE: The reason your email address ends with @uottawa.ca is that Saint Paul University is federated with the University of Ottawa, and we share resources.

4. View the schedule and select your courses

To view the course schedule for the upcoming academic year, please access the course information.

5. Get academic assistance

Meet the undergraduate academic advisor and the graduate academic advisor.  An academic advisor is available to assist undergraduate and graduate students with course selection, information about programs and academic regulations, and other matters related to their academic journey. Be sure to book an appointment at the beginning of your studies.

6. Log into Brightspace

Brightspace is your virtual campus platform where you will find course information, resources, and other content. To log in, you will use the same username and password as for uoCampus.

Brightspace is also accessible through uoCampus.

7. Join one of the orientation sessions

We strongly encourage you to attend one of the orientation sessions offered at the beginning of the term, in both French and English. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity to discover your campus, better understand the resources available to you, and begin your university experience with confidence.

8. Student Identity card

The student I.D. card is the property of the University and is required for using the shuttle bus between Saint Paul University and the University of Ottawa, for accessing the library, writing exams as well as other student services.

Students enrolled in their courses, may obtain their student I.D. card, free of charge, upon presentation of a government identification as well as their Student I.D. number. Please make an appointment with the Office of Admissions, Registrar and Student Services.

You must keep your card for the duration of your studies. A fee of 30$ will be charged for replacing a lost or stolen student ID card.

9. Learn more about the University’s academic regulations

Saint Paul University applies the same academic regulations as the University of Ottawa, and more specifically those of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Social Sciences when regulations differ from one faculty to the other, on occasion providing specifics that are detailed on the academic regulations page.
