PILGRIMAGE OF A HUMAN LIFE: EXPERIMENTAL LEARNING ON THE CAMINO DE COMPOSTELA
Focusing on a portion of the Camino de Santiago (Way of Saint James) situated in the region of Navarra (Spain), this course proposes an interactive and experimental approach to the concept of pilgrimage. Bringing together a series of scholars from Canada, Spain, and the U.K. from various disciplines, this global history, art, and culture course offers a journey on the Camino, where the students will be invited to walk and learn from in-situ socio-historical and artistic embodiments along the way.
INTRODUCTION TO LEADERSHIP, ECOLOGY AND EQUITY
Geared toward sustainable eco-social change, this course will explore the intersections among leadership, eco-justice and social equity. Through classroom teaching, discussing concrete examples, and visits to relevant sites, students will engage with issues such as climate change, loss of biodiversity and food insecurity. Insights from integral ecology, environmental humanities, transformative leadership, eco-literacy and eco-justice will help students develop connections between personal, social, political and ecological concerns.
