Admission applications for winter 2025 and fall 2025 are now being accepted.

Program description

The Graduate Diploma in Canon Law (GDCL) is a graduate program that provides specialization in canon law for non-canonists to complement their own education and career goals. The GDCL is intended for two audiences:

  • students who already have an adequate training in a related discipline (e.g., theology, religious studies, philosophy, mission studies, etc.); and
  • students and practitioners of civil or common law who wish to acquire further specialization in canon law.

On completion of the diploma, qualified students meeting admission requirements may apply for admission to the Master of Canon Law program and, on admission, complete the requirements of this program with credit granted for relevant courses already completed in the diploma.
