SPU Internships
The Faculties of Human Sciences and Philosophy offer you credited internships integrated into your academic curriculum.
Observation internship
You join the team at the organization as an observer. This type of internship allows you to observe and understand the practical application of what you’re learning in your academic courses.
Practical internship
You are an active member of the team at the organization. This type of internship allows you to apply the knowledge you’ve gained in your academic courses in a professional environment.
Research internship
You are an active member of the team at the organization. This type of internship allows you to conduct research and analysis work and encourages critical thinking of theory and practice.
Interested in an internship? Here are the first steps to follow:
- Step 1 : Review Academic Requirements by program
- Step 2 : Submit Eligibility Form (The student is required to complete and sign the Eligibility Form upon expressing interest in an internship. The information provided on this form will assist in determining the student’s eligibility for the internship. Students can request the form via email at stages-internships@ustpaul.ca.)
Intended Internship Start Date / Application Window
- Spring/Summer session (May) : January until the last Friday of February
- Fall session (September) : May until the last Friday of June
- Winter session (January) : September until the last Friday of October
PREPARING FOR AN INTERNSHIP
Once your eligibility is confirmed:
- Make sure your CV and cover letter are ready.
- Conduct your internship search and meet with the Internship Coordinator to discuss your identified organizations.
- Accept an internship offer.
- Consult the Internship Process.
