YOUR ROLE AS AN INTERN SUPERVISOR

Professors supervising interns play a key role in the process:

1) Approve the student’s learning objectives and internship activities. The professor is responsible for approving the internship objectives and internship activities provided by the selected organization. This normally requires a meeting with the student. The organization is also available to discuss the internship parameters, if needed.

2) Review and grade internship academic reports. As part of the course requirements, professors are asked to assign to the intern an academic report; this report is to be reviewed and graded by the assigned professor. Upon completion of an internship, students receive a grade of Satisfactory (S) or Not Satisfactory (NS).

Please note: professors are asked to be available for students should they need guidance or advice with their learning and the preparation of their final academic report.
