Holding a double doctorate in New Testament exegesis, professor Dionne authored an important thesis on “The narrative figure of God in the Acts of the Apostles”. This interdisciplinary research will have allowed him to bring into dialogue the study of ancient texts of the NT with contemporary language theories (Rocoeur, Genette, Gadamer). Associate professor then Vice Dean of the faculty of theology, he is presently Director of graduate and postdoctoral studies. Professor Dionne is the only Canadian to have published two works of scientific exegesis – over 800 pages – in the prestigious collection Lectio Divina (Cerf, Paris). He edited a dozen of issues, including several “special editions”, of the Theoforum journal.
