My research interests are varied. I’m interested in the use of reason and the articulation of teleological (ethics of the good) and deontological components in public ethics, as well as the relationship between the private and public spheres.
Another field I explore concerns secularization and laïcité, the place and relevance of religion in the public sphere, the relationship between faith and reason, and between philosophy and theology.
I am also interested in contemporary continental philosophy and the Christian philosophical tradition.
The work of Belgian philosopher Jean Ladrière (1921-2007), on which I’ve been working since the time of my Master’s degree in theology, never ceases to occupy and inspire me.
