Laura Pycock Kassar

Profile

Laura Kassar has a master’s degree in Philosophy and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Religion Studies at the Institut d’études religieuses, Université de Montréal. She has taught as a lecturer in the Feminist, Gender, and Sexualities program at UdeM as well as at the Institut d’études religieuses. She is an active member of the “Religions, Féminismes et Genres” research group within the Réseau québécois en études féministes (RéQEF). Her research interests are interdisciplinary and include contemporary philosophical hermeneutics, feminist biblical interpretation, environmental justice and materialities. In the summer of 2023, she was artist-in-residence at the Wallace Stegner House in Saskatchewan where she co-directed a 16 mm experimental documentary film.
