Franco-Ontarian Day Celebration

Friday, September 25, 2026, 8:45 a.m.
In front of the University, on Main Street (between Laframboise and Guigues Halls)

Members of the community are invited to gather in celebration of Franco-Ontarian Day.

The event will begin at 8:45 a.m. with a flag raising ceremony in front of the University on Main St (between Laframboise and Guigues Halls).

Special guest Michel Prévost, a renowned local historian, will share a few words on the history of Ottawa and the deep roots of the Francophonie in our region — roots that have long been intertwined with Saint Paul University’s own history.

Following the flag raising, a new tree will be planted in the Forest of La Francophonie, which was established last year. The addition of the tree symbolizes the continued growth and vitality of the Franco-Ontarian community at Saint Paul University, in Ottawa and across the province.

We look forward to celebrating this moment of pride and collective memory with you.
