Profile

Dr. Rajesh C. Shukla is an Associate Professor in the School of Ethics and Public Affairs, Faculty of Philosophy, Saint Paul University, Ottawa, Canada. His research interests reside at the intersection of moral and political philosophy, focusing particularly on the notions of friendship and justice, migration and immigration, diaspora and diversity, ethics and public policy, and secularism and democratic citizenship. Rajesh’s publications have appeared in numerous journals including The Hill Times (2025), Montreal Gazette (2024), Maritain Studies (2023), Mobility Humanities (2023), Anglistica (2021), Theoforum (2018), Frontiers of Philosophy in China (2014), East and West Thought (2014), Toronto Slavic Quarterly (2013) and Existenz (2011). Rajesh has also served as the guest editor of Mobility Humanities (forthcoming 2027), Diaspora- A Journal of Transnational Studies (forthcoming 2026), the French Journal of Media Research (2018) and the Journal of Philosophy, Culture and Tradition (2013). Rajesh’s current research focusses on understanding the role of diaspora, diversity and immigration in the functioning of democratic societies and welfare states, including Canada, India and the US.
