Profile

Dr. Michaël Séguin is an assistant professor and director of the School of Leadership, Ecology and Equity at Saint Paul University, Ottawa. A sociologist of ethnic relations by training, he specializes in the development of policies and practices to foster Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in community-based organizations (including settlement agencies) and higher education institutions. Since his doctoral research about the cognitive dimension of Israeli settler colonialism and the representation of the Palestinians it fosters, he is exploring ways of transforming the worldview of dominant group members and turning them into aspiring allies for social justice. His teaching and research have led him to explore power dynamics in organizations, ways to raise awareness of differences, and inclusive leadership.
