Checklist

1. Sign in to uoZone

uoZone is the student portal for Saint Paul University and University of Ottawa students. You need to access this portal to create and manage your student email account and uocampus.

To obtain your uoZone User ID and Password, you will need to complete the Service Desk Request Form and request your account activation, user ID and a temporary password.

Or, you can call the University of Ottawa’s Communications Services at 613-562-5800, ext. 6555 and select the “for any other enquiries” option. When calling, ask for your “uoZone/uoCampus” password.

2. Sign in to UoCampus

You can access uoCampus from your uoZone account. uoCampus is the portal through which you can access and manage a number of student services, including:

  • Course registration
  • Tuition fee invoices and billing information
  • Personal information
  • Unofficial transcripts

To sign in, you will use the same user ID and password as uoZone.

NOTE: You can also access uoCampus directly from the SPU website, under the “Current Students” section in the main navigation menu.

3. Sign in to your Student Email

You can access your email through UoZone, and it uses the same user ID and password. It is important to regularly check this email account as communication regarding your academic career will now be done through this email address.

Please note that your email address will be generated within 48 hours after you have enrolled for at least one course.

NOTE: The reason why your email address ends with @uottawa.ca is because Saint Paul University is federated with the University of Ottawa and we share a number of resources.

TIP: Link your student email to your personal email to ensure you never miss important communications!

4. Review your course timetable

At the beginning of the trimester, be sure to familiarize yourself with your course schedule so you never miss a class!

NOTE: It is important to check your timetable regularly for the first few weeks of the trimester as the location of your classroom may change.

5. Sign in to Brightspace

Brightspace, your virtual campus platform is  where you will find course information, resources, and other content. To sign in, you will use the same user ID and password as uoCampus.

Brightspace is also accessible through uoCampus or directly from the SPU website, under the “Current Students” section in the main navigation menu.

6. Get your student card

You’ll need your student card to access the library, load your U-Pass and access certain services.

You can obtain your student card from the Registrar’s Office (G165). To book an appointment, click here.

NOTE: Be sure to bring your student number and a piece of valid photo ID with you.

7. Pay your tuition

You can find the billing information for your tuition payments through uoCampus.

8. Activate your U-Pass

Once you have your student card, you can activate your U-Pass at the kiosk in front of the Multiservices Centre (G020). The U-Pass grants full-time students unlimited access to Ottawa’s OC Transpo and Gatineau’s STO transit systems.

If you believe you require an exemption, please consult the exemption criteria. Next, you will be required to submit your completed exemption form to upass@ustpaul.ca by September 30, 2024.

Please note that submitting an exemption form does not guarantee that your exemption will be granted.

9. Explore student services

As a student at Saint Paul University, we have a number of services to help you throughout your academic career. Be sure to check the “Student Services” section to get an overview of what is available to you.

10. Connect to the campus Wi-Fi

On the SPU campus, you can access the “eduroam” wireless network.
Username: The first part of your @uottawa.ca address
Password: The same password as for your @uottawa.ca account

TIP: You have free access to eduroam on all post-secondary campuses in Canada!
