Logistical Services
Audiovisual Services
- Most of our rooms are equipped with an audiovisual technology standard. If you wish to make use of our equipment, a flat $150 AV fee will be added to your invoice. Should you need additional equipment, Saint Paul University (SPU) has a selection of microphones, sound systems, projectors, etc. available for rental.
- Should your needs exceed our capabilities, we work closely with a professional AV supplier that is able to provide its services for an additional fee.
- An SPU staff member will help to make sure that our equipment is in working order. Note that we do not have technicians on site to troubleshoot or guide you through your audiovisual needs.
- AV technicians are available for hire for a fee of $50 per hour, with a 4 hour minimum. Please note that we require a minimum of 7 days’ advance notice to arrange this service.
- For detailed technical equipment costs, please contact your Food and Conference Services representative.
Room Setup
- Our multi-function event spaces require setup to be done in the room. We will work with you to customize the layout to your specific event needs with the furniture we have on site. A $150 room setup fee will be added to your invoice for this service.
- Furniture rentals required for your event can be done through Food and Conference Services and will be added to your invoice.
- For event spaces with standard setup, such as classrooms, you are welcome to do your own setup at no cost. We kindly ask that before you leave, you put the room back the way you found it. Failure to do so may result in a setup fee being applied to your final invoice.
Decorations and Accessories
Thanks to our network of specialized suppliers, we offer a large variety of table linens, centrepieces, flowers, dishes and cutlery. Just let us know what you need, and we’ll make it happen! Charges will be added to your invoice.
Security
A University security guard is always on the premises. If you would like a security guard assigned specifically to your event, the fee is $30 per hour, with a 4‑hour minimum. Please note that we require a minimum of 7 days’ advance notice to arrange this service. Depending on the nature of your event, we may also require you to have additional security on site.
Parking at SPU
Please use our Visitor Parking when visiting the University. Our lot has a pay-and-display system. All lots are monitored; failing to display a parking receipt will result in a fine and/or towing at the owner’s expense.
Guests with reduced mobility must pay at the Visitor Parking and display their receipt on their vehicle’s dashboard. They may then use one of the designated accessible parking spots located near every entrance.
