Dr. Pietrobruno, professeure titulaire, a été professeure invitée (2018) au département du changement social et de la culture (ISAK) de l’Université de Linköping. Elle a obtenu des bourses de recherche au département de sociologie de Goldsmiths/Université de Londres, à l’Institut d’études culturelles avancées de Suède (ACSIS)/Université de Linköping et à l’Institut d’études canadiennes de McGill. Dr. Pietrobruno a obtenu le poste de professeure invitée Muriel Gold à l’Institut d’études sur le genre, la sexualité et le féminisme de l’Université McGill, ainsi que le poste de scientifique en résidence à Gendup : Centre d’études sur le genre de l’Université de Salzbourg. Les domaines de recherche dans les études sur les médias et la communication comprennent le genre, le patrimoine immatériel, les études muséales, les médias numériques, les médias sociaux, l’archéologie des médias, la théorie des médias, la photographie et les études visuelles.
