Dr. Faramarz Tamanna est professeur à temps partiel à l’École d’éthique et d’affaires publiques de l’Université Saint-Paul. Il est également chercheur postdoctoral à l’École supérieure d’affaires publiques et internationales de l’Université d’Ottawa, ainsi que chercheur associé au Centre d’études en politiques internationales (CIPS) de cette même université.
Avant de rejoindre le CIPS, il a été professeur à l’École de diplomatie et d’études internationales (DIS) de l’Université d’Afghanistan, dont il a également été président. Il a obtenu un doctorat en études internationales à la Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) à New Delhi, en Inde (2014), un doctorat en relations internationales à l’Université de Téhéran (2010), une maîtrise en relations internationales à l’Université Shahid Beheshti (2006), ainsi qu’un baccalauréat en science politique à la même université à Téhéran (2001). Il enseigne dans plusieurs universités depuis 2008.
Dr. Tamanna est l’auteur de cinq ouvrages et a rédigé ou co-rédigé des dizaines d’articles et d’analyses politiques portant sur les relations internationales, la politique étrangère, la sécurité et la politique internationale.
Il a également occupé le poste de directeur général du Centre d’études stratégiques du ministère des Affaires étrangères de l’Afghanistan (2012-2019), et a représenté son pays lors de nombreuses conférences internationales sur le régionalisme, la sécurité et les enjeux politiques à travers le monde. Dr. Tamanna est le fondateur et président de l’Association afghane de science politique et de relations internationales (AAPSIR).
