Brent Epperson est professeur adjoint en Études de conflits à l’Université Saint-Paul. Depuis 2014, il a travaillé comme ombudsman en Europe, au Canada et aux États-Unis et continue d’exercer activement. Son expérience professionnelle dans la gestion des conflits nourrit directement son enseignement et ses recherches.
En tant que partenaire chez Justéquitable, il fournit des services de gestion des conflits à temps partiel à des établissements d’enseignement supérieur, des associations universitaires et sportives, des organismes de santé et d’autres secteurs. Il siège actuellement au conseil d’administration du European Network of Ombuds in Higher Education (ENOHE) et est membre de l’International Ombuds Association (IOA), du Forum canadien des ombudsmans (FCO) et membre associé de l’Association des ombudsmans des collèges et universités du Canada (AOUCC). Avant de rejoindre l’Université Saint Paul, il était chercheur postdoctoral en politique publique au Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) en France.
Le professeur Epperson est ouvert à la supervision d’étudiants dans des domaines tels que la pratique de l’ombudsman, la gestion des conflits, la gouvernance du secteur public, le (re)cadrage des enjeux dans les débats sur les politiques publiques, les études sur les médias et les médias sociaux, ainsi que les politiques et pratiques en matière de DEIB (diversité, équité, inclusion et appartenance).
