Abstract: How can we mobilize participatory and inclusive approches to develop understanding around social issues? What are the specific contributions of these approaches to respond to social, cultural and intellectual justice? Drawing on different case studies of participatory democracy and action research used in Exeko’s social innovation lab, we will sketch the principles of participatory methodologies, along with their various tools and techniques.

Biography: William J. Beauchemin works on participatory research projects and is the director of the social innovation lab at Exeko, an organization working on cultural and intellectual mediation. He has been a researcher and mediator at this non-profit organization since 2013.

The presentation will be in French, with a bilingual discussion.
