Saint Paul University Celebrates Catholic Women’s Leadership Foundation Gift to Launch National Program in Women’s Leadership

Ottawa, June 8, 2018 – Saint Paul University welcomed members of the Catholic Women’s Leadership Foundation to thank them for a generous gift of $75,000 to establish the first National Program in Catholic Women’s Leadership. Dr. Chantal Beauvais, Rector of Saint Paul University, had this to say about the generous gift: “On behalf of the faculty, staff, students and alumni of Saint Paul University, it is my privilege to thank the Catholic Women’s Leadership Foundation (CWLF) for their gift of $75,000 to establish the Catholic Women’s Leadership Program. This gift will support the launch of the first national university-level certificate for a holistic program that integrates personal, professional and faith development into a training program for women leaders.

Saint Paul University is proud to be partnering with the CWLF to support and promote women in leadership roles.” The program will be led by Dr. Miriam Martin PBVM, Director of the Providence School of Transformative Leadership and Spirituality at Saint Paul University.

“The Providence School of Transformative Leadership and Spirituality is delighted to partner with the Catholic Women’s Leadership Foundation,” said Dr. Martin at the event. “Their gift is enabling us to offer a dynamic program to engage Catholic women leaders from across the country. We share a vision that leadership development and a deepening consciousness of faith and spirituality are necessary for effective transformative leadership in our country today. We look forward to continuing this important relationship.”

Ms. Rita Janes, Chair of the Catholic Women’s Leadership Foundation, who also attended the June 7th event, commented on this new partnership: “The Board of Directors of the Catholic Women’s Leadership Foundation is very pleased and grateful that the Providence School of Transformative Leadership and Spirituality at Saint Paul University has partnered with us to provide a leadership program that meets the vision of the Foundation to create a “just, merciful and compassionate world nurtured by the genius of women.” The Catholic Women’s Leadership Program is for Catholic women from all walks of life who have a genuine desire to make a difference in their communities, places of work and parishes.”
