Future Leaders of the Americas at Saint Paul University

Congratulations to Global Affairs Canada scholarship recipients Ruth Morales Padilla and Maria Isabel Ferreras Matos from the Dominican Republic!

Saint Paul University (SPU) is proud to present the scholarships offered by Global Affairs Canada to Ruth Morales Padilla and Maria Isabel Ferreras Matos from the Dominican Republic. These scholarships, valued at $ 7,200 each, are awarded under the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program. Since 2009, the Government of Canada has been funding this program to encourage the emergence of a new generation of leaders in the Americas.

Both recipients study social communication at SPU.

"Canada is more than a country name now, for me: it is synonymous with opportunities, adventures and knowledge," said Padilla.

"I think this occasion will not only allow me to better understand my field of study, but also the world. It's a life experience to become a better person, learn more about Canadian culture and make friends from around the world," said Maria Isabel Ferreras Matos.

The University community wishes both recipients a very happy stay in Canada and every success in their studies.
