Position Description


The Student Success Centre of Saint Paul University offers various services to students in order to help them succeed in their studies by providing academic support and guidance as well as counselling.


Saint Paul University requires a counselling professional to work with students and help them overcome a range of psychological, emotional, relational, social or personal issues and difficulties. The counsellor will be required to propose personal treatment plan to students to:


  • address their thought processes, feelings and behavior (assess needs);
  • understand inner conflicts (explore issues);
  • find new ways to deal with, and alleviate distress (goals and course of action)
  • the counsellor will offer an average of  6 to 8 sessions per student using mainly brief therapy techniques, and if need be, will refer the student to other community resources for more complex situations. 

Experience :


  • Qualified counsellor (graduate of a recognized counselling program).
  • Registered with the order of the psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
  • At least 5 years of practical experience
  • Bilingual
  • Flexible in terms of schedule and availability
  • Must deliver services on campus
  • Experience in student counseling would be an asset
