Saint Paul University, a Catholic, bilingual institution of higher learning federated with the University of Ottawa, seeks to promote excellence in teaching, research and professional formation at the international, national and local levels.

The Faculty of Human Sciences is seeking a professor to the rank of assistant or associate in a tenure-track position for its Counselling and Spirituality program.

Nature of the Position

  • Clinical training and supervision, coordination of clinical settings.
  • Teaching in both official languages (English and French)
  • Participation in meetings of Faculty Council and various committees at the Faculty and University levels.

Experience :

  • A doctorate in gerontology, clinical/counselling psychology or equivalent.
  • Membership in a professional association (e.g., the College of Psychologists of Ontario, CRPO) – an asset
  • Clinical experience in individual and/or couple and/or family and/or geriatric psychotherapy
  • Experience in clinical setting: supervision, coordination of practica and clinical training
  • Academic publications and a research program
  • Research experience in palliation, gerontology or any other related field is an asset
  • Bilingualism (comprehension/written/oral) is a necessary requirement. The candidate must be able to teach in both official languages upon hire.


  • Salary and promotion based on experience and the collective agreement
  • Rank will be determined based on experience, the collective agreement and the policies in effect.
