Geneviève Parent is an Associate Professor in Conflict Studies. Her research touches on the issues of genocide, denial and acknowledgement, transitional justice (including restorative justice) and reconciliation following armed conflict (especially in the case of intimate genocide), healing of victims / survivors of armed conflicts (including intimate genocide or neighbor-to-neighbor killing), psychosocial consequences of violent crimes and mass violence. Geneviève Parent’s research focuses on the following areas: the former Yugoslavia and the Great Lakes region (especially Rwanda). She has written about several aspects of the practice of peacebuilding following ethnic conflicts and / or genocide. She is also co-editor of the book Peacebuilding, Memory and Reconciliation: Bridging Top-Down and Bottom-up Approaches (2012, Routledge).
