William S. Morrow
Professor, Hebrew and Hebrew Scriptures, School of Religion, Queen's University


William Morrow (Ph.D. University of Toronto, 1988) is Professor of Hebrew and Hebrew Scriptures at Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario. In addition, he taught Old Testament studies at Queen’s Theological College from 1987–2012. Ordained by the Presbyterian Church in Canada (1978), he is now active as a non-stipendiary priest in the Anglican Church of Canada. His research addresses biblical law in its ancient Near Eastern context, the lament tradition, and the effects of violence on the development of biblical religion. His monographs include Scribing the Center: Organization and Redaction in Deuteronomy 14:1–17:13 (Society of Biblical Literature, 1995); Protest Against God: The Eclipse of A Biblical Tradition (Sheffield Phoenix, 2006); and An Introduction to Biblical Law (Eerdmans, 2017).
