Study of the interrelationship of justice, peace, and the ecology in the context of what it means to be human. Focus on the challenges that this poses for ethical action in the contemporary global context. Explores current issues in dialogue with social justice frameworks and other relevant sources.

HUM 5125 - Worldview, Religion and Culture
Explores secular and religious worldviews considering their formative nature on the development of leadership and communities. Analysis of social milieu, cultural perspectives, social and cultural change and the impact of global issues with reference to, social justice frameworks and socio-historical structures.

HTP 1103 - People, Social Justice and Ecology
Social and ecological challenges facing humanity today, and related issues of social justice. These questions will be examined from a perspective of community building and efforts towards ecological and social transformations for a hopeful future.

ECS 3140 - Gender Relations and Conflict
Social and philosophical theories of gender. Feminist theories of discrimination and power relations as they apply in conflict situations. Ethnic and religious factors in gender-related conflict issues. Constructive responses and social movements.

Tout conflit est vécu au niveau de la communauté locale, que sa source soit locale ou internationale. Ce cours identifie et analyse les différentes façons qu’ont les acteurs locaux et communautaires de comprendre et de réagir aux conflits violents ou non violents et à leurs conséquences.
