The doctrine of discovery (En anglais seulement)
The Centre on the Churches, Truth, and Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples at the Faculty of Theology and the Centre Oblat — A Voice for Justice are co-hosting a webinar on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 7–9 PM ET on the doctrine of discovery. This webinar will explore the history, context, and legacy of the doctrine of discovery, including its recent repudiation by the Vatican. The panelists for the event are Professor Christine Jamieson (Concordia University), Canon Lawyer Noah MacDonald (Archdiocese of Toronto), and Archbishop Don Bolen (Archdiocese of Regina). The conversation will be moderated by Michel Andraos, dean of the Faculty of Theology.
