Prof. Karlijn Demasure
Room: G264
Offered in English

The family home is supposed to be the safest place for children, where they can grow up while being taken care of, surrounded by persons who act in the best interest of the child. Sadly, this is not always the case. For children who are victims of intrafamilial abuse, home has become a place of terror. In this workshop, we will try to answer following questions: what is incest? What is its impact? What can the Church do to assist?

  • 9.00-9.30: welcome and registration
  • 9.30-10.15: What are we talking about?
  • 10.15-10.45: coffee break
  • 10.45-11.30: What is the impact on the victim and family life?
  • 11.30-12.00: discussion
  • 12.00-13.30: lunch break
  • 13.30-14.15: Spiritual and theological questions
  • 14.15-15.00: Discussion
  • 15.00-15.45: What the Church can do
