Fr. Andrzej Jastrzębski, OMI

Fr. Andrzej Jastrzębski is a priest of the Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI). Born in Bytom, Poland, he entered the Congregation in 1992 and was ordained on June 19, 1999. He earned a master’s of Theology at Papal Section of Theology (PWT), Poznań, Poland (1999), a post-graduate diploma in Psychotherapy and Counseling for the Religious (2005), a Ph.D. in Metaphysics and Philosophical Anthropology (2006), and an LTh in Spirituality (2014) – all from the Catholic University of Lublin, Poland. In recognition of his academic contribution, Father Andrzej was granted a habilitation in theology (in Europe, the habilitation represents the final stage before a faculty post in a university).

Father Andrzej was assistant pastor in Poland before moving to Lublin to pursue his studies. He served as a high school religion teacher and worked in university pastoral services. He was then appointed as Executive Assistant to the Central Government of the Congregation in Rome for six years. While in Rome, he taught at the Angelicum (PUST) as a part-time professor of philosophy. Fr. Andrzej then returned to Poland, where he served as the superior and treasurer of the student community for three years and continued his teaching both in Lublin and at the OMI Polish Seminary. He visited Saint Paul University many times in relation to his administrative work in Rome as well as academic activities.

Fr. Andrzej has authored several books and a number of articles, and has given many talks on anthropological issues within the scope of spirituality, philosophy and psychology. His missionary life has brought him to an active knowledge of many world languages.
