Snack and Chat: Forced migration of refugees
Yellow Vests or Refugee Rights? A Christian Response to Global Migration
When: Wednesday, February 27, 12:00 – 1:20 p.m.
Where: Room G103
With 68.5 million people displaced in the world today, and 31 people forced to leave their homes every minute, how should we respond? Are Canada’s borders secure? Can we build walls – or bridges – fast enough to respond adequately to this global crisis? What should Canada do? What is our role as individuals and as Canadian Christians?
Guest speaker:
Joe Gunn, Executive Director of the brand-new Centre Oblat – A Voice for Justice, located here at Saint Paul University. Joe worked for two years in refugee camps in Central America and has since been engaged in Canadian refugee policy issues.
