Winter Term 2018 Dates

Holiday break. University closed December 22, 2017 at 5 p.m. to January 3, 2018 at 8:00 a.m.
Reading week : no classes February 18 to 24
Family Day : no classes 19-Feb
Easter break : no classes March 30 to April 2
Study Break : no classes, no final exams 12-Apr
Changes to regular course schedule
Classes on Friday, March 30, Good Friday (a statutory holiday), are cancelled. They will take place on Tuesday, April 10, when the usual Friday course schedule will apply. 10-Apr
Classes on Saturday, March 31, Easter break (a statutory holiday), are cancelled. They will take place on Wednesday, April 11, when the usual Saturday course schedule will apply. 11-Apr
Enrolment, courses, withdrawals and reimbursements
First day to enrol 23-May
Last day to enrol and to change course selection 26-Jan
Last day to change student status (regular/auditor) 26-Jan
Last day to request leave of absence (graduate students) 26-Jan
Last day to withdraw from a course or an activity and receive a financial credit, less administrative fees. The deadline to receive a reimbursement for the ancillary fees associated to a course may differ and even be earlier.Withdrawing from a course may affect whether you will meet all your program requirements. Be sure to consider all changes very carefully before going ahead. The date may differ for some faculties and programs, so please confirm date with your academic unit. 2-Feb
Last day to withdraw from a course or an activity, no financial credit. The deadline to receive a reimbursement for the ancillary fees associated to a course may differ and even be earlier. Withdrawing from a course may affect whether you will meet all your program requirements. Be sure to consider all changes very carefully before going ahead. Course withdrawal is not possible after this date. If you simply stop attending a course and do not withdraw, you will receive a failing grade. 23-Mar
Grades and exams
Winter term exam period: Exams are scheduled during the day and evening, on weekdays and on weekends Apr 13 to 26
Official final grades for the Winter term posted online 12-May
Last day to submit a grade review for a final exam. For information about reviewing grades and appeals, consult academic regulations.  30-May
Official academic standing posted online 22-May
Tuition fee payment
Last day to pay tuition fees without late payment fees. Consult Payment of fees on the Financial Resources website. 5-Jan
Student services
U-Pass distribution January 3 to 12
Last day to apply for a U-Pass exemption January 31
Reports, major research papers, and theses (graduate studies)
Last day of the Fall term to submit a thesis without having to enrol inthe Winter term 22-Dec
Last day to submit a thesis and receive a 100% financial credit (applies only if you are enrolled exclusively in the thesis and were also enrolled in the previous term). Submission by this date results in the cancellation of your enrolment for the current term. Credit not available if you are submitting a revised thesis 2-Feb
Last day of the Winter term to submit a thesis without having to enrol in the Spring-Summer term.  April 30
Making changes to your program (undergraduate studies)
Period to make changes to your program for the Summer 2018 term. March 1 to April 8
