Statutory holidays, breaks and special events
Labour Day : No classes September 3
Thanksgiving : No classes October 8
Reading week : No classes October 21 to 27
Study Break : No classes and no final exams December 6
Holiday break. University closed. December 21, 2018 at 4 p.m. until January 3, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.
Changes to regular course schedule
Classes are cancelled on Monday, October 8, for Thanksgiving (statutory holiday). They will be held on Wednesday, December 5, when the usual Monday course schedule will apply. This does not affect internships. December 5
Enrolment, courses, withdrawals and reimbursements
First day to enrol (undergraduate students) May 22
First day to enrol (graduate students) May 22
First day to enrol (special students) May 22
Last day to enrol or change course selection September 21
Last day to change student status (regular/auditor) September 21
Last day to request leave of absence (graduate studies) September 21
Last day to withdraw from a course or an activity and receive a financial credit, less administrative fees. The deadline to receive a reimbursement for the ancillary fees associated to a course may differ and even be earlier. Withdrawing from a course may affect whether you will meet all your program requirements. Be sure to consider all changes very carefully before going ahead. The date may differ for some faculties and programs, so please confirm date with your academic unit. September 28

Withdrawing from a course may affect whether you will meet all your program requirements. Be sure to consider all changes very carefully before going ahead. Course withdrawal is not possible after this date. If you simply stop attending a course and do not withdraw, you will receive a failing grade. November 16
Grades and exams
Exam period: Exams are scheduled during the day and evening, on weekdays and on weekends. December 7 to 20

Tuition fee payment
Last day to pay tuition fees without late payment fees. Consult Payment of fees on the Financial Services website. September 1
Student services
U-Pass distribution August 27 to September 14, 2018
Last day to apply for a U-Pass exemption September 28, 2018
Last day to opt out of medical or dental insurance plans September 30
Reports, major research papers, and theses (graduate studies)
Last day of the Spring-Summer term to submit a thesis without having to enrol in the Fall term. August 31
Last day to submit a thesis and receive a 100% financial credit (applies only for thesis option and if you were enrolled in the previous term). Submission of your thesis by this date results in the cancellation of your enrolment  for the current term. Credit not available if you are submitting a revised thesis. September 28
Last day of the Fall term to submit a thesis without having to enrol in the Winter term. December 21
