Saint Paul University Opens New Student Life Centre
Ottawa, February 15, 2018 - Saint Paul University (SPU) proudly unveiled its new Student Life Centre today in front of donors, faculty, staff, students, alumni and the community at large.
This modern infrastructure was made possible thanks to leadership gifts totalling $3.3M by the Oblate Fund of Saint Paul University Inc. and the Saint Paul University Students' Association (SPUSA). This new infrastructure was designed to meet the needs of our students, who were fully engaged and contributed at every stage of its planning and development.
"As we officially mark the opening of the new Student Life Centre, I would like to sincerely thank all the members of the Board of Directors of the Oblate Fund of Saint Paul University Inc. and the Saint Paul University Students' Association. Their generous donations towards this project will allow us to change the image of our institution, to pursue our goal of becoming transformational leaders while maintaining our vision to prepare our students to be the face of change in the world," said Chantal Beauvais, Rector of Saint Paul University.
"We are happy to contribute to the realization of this project. The new Student Life Centre is at the service of a culture of collaboration, and aligns well with our missionary practices - which start with hospitality and dialogue," said Father Luc Tardif, OMI, Director of the Oblate Fund of Saint Paul University Inc.
"On behalf of the Saint Paul University Students' Association (SPUSA), I am proud to see the Student Life Centre come to life. The spaces are friendly, pleasant and respond well to the needs of students, whether to study or relax. This is a tremendous achievement for our community and I would especially like to thank the University students who took an active part in it with their financial contributions. We are a small community, and we can only rejoice at achievements of this kind," added Maria Princène Dagba, President of SPUSA.
