Saint Paul University is about to celebrate its 2018 Convocation

Ottawa (Ontario), Wednesday, June 13, 2018 ‒ It is with excitement and pride that the staff members, professors and graduates of Saint Paul University are getting ready for the 2018 convocation ceremonies, which will take place on Friday, June 15. No fewer than 159 students in canon law, human sciences, theology and transformative leadership will receive their diplomas at two ceremonies, which will start at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.

Honorary Doctorates

Vivian LabriePierre Bergeron

Once again this year, we are celebrating activism! Two committed individuals will be granted an honorary doctorate: Vivian Labrie (morning ceremony), an ethnographer, woman of action and leading advocate for social justice; and Pierre Bergeron (afternoon ceremony), a renowned journalist and communicator and a staunch supporter of francophone rights. They will no doubt deliver rousing speeches!

Governor General’s Academic Medal
The Governor General’s Silver Medal will be awarded to Maria Princène Dagba, who has just completed an honour’s degree in social communication. The Governor General’s Gold Medal will go to Sister Bonnie Ann MacLellan, Ph.D. (canon law).
