Rector's Statement Regarding the Indigenous Delegation in Rome
“What I saw and heard this morning at the Indigenous delegation's final meeting with the Pope was deeply moving. It was the result of a long journey to Rome, a journey that the Pope will continue on his visit to Canada. Having heard the stories of residential school survivors, the Holy Father spoke of indignation, shame, sadness and the work that needs to be done; the First Nations, Métis and Inuit spoke of hope. I am encouraged and look forward to the Pope's visit to Canada, confident that the Church will continue its work of truth and reconciliation.”
