Philosophy and Film: It’s a Wonderful Life
Title: It’s a Wonderful Life
When: December 21, 2018, 1:30 p.m.
Where: Amphitheatre G1124, Saint Paul University, 223 Main Street
A man becomes despondent over his inability to escape life in a small town and frustrations with his business. He contemplates suicide. He thinks that the world would be better off without him. Suddenly he is offered a chance to see something even more powerful: what the world would have been like had he never existed at all. Somehow this dark, existential premise is simultaneously the basis of a very sentimental Christmas movie.
Actors: James Stewart, Donna Reed & Lionel Barrymore
Director: Frank Capra
