Philosophy and Film: A Scanner Darkly

A narcotics agent goes under cover to infiltrate an underground drug culture. But as he observes various drug uses, he becomes addicted to drugs and eventually his identity subdivides into two distinct personalities: one side cop and the other side drug user. The cop side continues to investigate but ends up investigating himself. What exactly is identity?
