Philopolis 2018

As a part of the activities of the Research Centre in Public Ethics and Governance, three students in Public Ethics will have the opportunity to be mentored in preparing an individual presentation for a conference to be held in Montreal in February 2018. The theme will be determined among the participants.

The contest is open to students registered in the Master in Public Ethics, as well as to fourth-year undergraduate students in Public Ethics.

You have until September 29, 2017, to submit your application.

Your application must contain:

  1. a transcript of the last two years
  2. a letter of intent (one page maximum) explaining why you want to live the Philopolis experience and telling how serious you are about your commitment (you will have to devote a minimum of three hours a week to this activity between November and February. You will also need to be available for the entire weekend of the conference as well as to pay for your own transportation and lodging. Logistical support will be provided).
  3. a reference letter

The contest criteria will be:

  • excellence of academic background (10 points)
  • the motivation and the seriousness of the commitment (10 points)
  • the reference letter (10 points)

The selected candidates will be contacted by October 12.

You must submit your application to Professor Julie Paquette jupaquette@ustpaul.ca (you can also contact Professor Paquette for more information about this program).

Among the selected candidates, further mentorship will be offered to those who have performed best during the conference, in order to produce an article in a student journal.
