Monique Lanoix
presents

Policy Development as Tapestry:
Interweaving Sociology, Ethnographic Practice and Philosophy

Tuesday, March 24, 2015
12:10 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Guigues Building, Room 101

In North America, philosophers do not generally have a public role, and philosophy is seen as a discipline that is of little practical use. However, this paper puts forward that philosophy, as a discipline, is instrumental to the development and critical examination of policies. Monique Lanoix uses her experience as a philosopher on a project entitled Re-imagining Long-term Care, led by social theorists, to illustrate her claim.
