Noon Seminar on Peacebuilding: LETTERS PROJECT: POST-GENOCIDE RESTORATIVE JUSTICE IN RWANDA

Delphine Furaha (Fine), Prison Chaplain, Rwanda with Dr. Pierre Allard, former Assistant Commissioner, Canadian Penitentiary Service and President, Just Equipping
Furaha is part of a small chaplaincy team which headed up the 'Letters Project'. This project delivered over 400 letters to genocide victim-survivors written by perpetrators of the Rwandan Genocide, now in the Rwandan prison system. These letters asked forgiveness for the crimes committed during this difficult time in the country's history. This resulted in hundreds of meetings between victims and génocidaires in prison.
