Launch of the Calendar of documents of Canadian interest in the Archives and Libraries of Rome (1622–1922)

In 1977, the Research Centre for the Religious History of Canada (elevated in 2013 to the rank of Chair), in collaboration with the Public Archives of Canada (now Library and Archives Canada), set afoot the project "Calendar of documents of Canadian interest in the Archives and Libraries of Rome." This Calendar of several thousands of documents covering the period 1622 to 1922 has now been completed and will be launched in a computerized version on Thursday, November 3, at 7 p.m. in the amphitheatre (room 1124) of Guigues Hall. Three of the main architects of this project, Professor Pierre Hurtubise of Saint Paul University, Archivist Victorin Chabot (formerly of Library and Archives Canada) and Professor Luca Codignola of the University of Genoa (Italy) will each make a presentation having to do with various aspects of the said Project. A reception will follow.

You are cordially invited to join us for the celebration of this major achievement in the history of Saint Paul University, but also of our country, a few months away from the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation.
