Jane’s Walk: Survivors on the Main: A Historical Walk
Date: Sunday, May 5, 2019
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Location: 4685 Parc Avenue (corner Villeneuve), Montreal H2V 4E4
Organized by Saint Paul University professor Dr. Anna Sheftel in collaboration with Dawson College, The Montreal Holocaust Museum and the Jewish Museum of Montreal, Survivors on the Main: A Historical Walk will recreate the postwar social worlds of child Holocaust survivors and the storied neighbourhood that received them. Situated in the Plateau, along Saint-Laurent Boulevard, Jeanne Mance Street, and Esplanade Avenue, the walk’s 1.5-hour narrative, developed and presented in collaboration with survivors themselves, will take participants to the places that were central to survivors’ early experiences in the city.
