Forging a New Path: Reconciliation, Ecological Protection and Responsible Development of Canada’s Natural Resources

Saint Paul University, and the Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation Office of OMI Lacombe is pleased to invite you to a Symposium:

“Forging a New Path:
Reconciliation, Ecological Protection and
Responsible Development of
Canada’s Natural Resources”

This event is a follow-up to our mining symposia of the last four years. It will be held in the Laframboise room (L120) at Saint Paul University, 223 Main Street, Ottawa on Thursday, September 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The day will provide an opportunity for government, First Nations representatives, NGOs, faith-based organizations and industry to come together in a mutually respectful way to share ideas and experiences about how policy, social innovation, and community action can work towards protecting Canada’s natural resources, decreasing the effects of climate change and furthering the common good.

The day will include a series of panel discussions and presentations covering the effect of mining on the environment, Indigenous issues related to ecological protection and territory, sustainable development, climate change, and the role of faith communities in the protection of the environment.

Please note the date in your calendars. We will be sending out program details and registration information shortly. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Leonardo Rego, JPIC Office (jpic@ustpaul.ca or 613-236-1393 ext. 2660), Saint Paul University.
