Fight for $15 and Fairness: Movement Building and Organizing to Win

Join students in INS 5103 (Collective Action Strategies and Discourses) for a conversation with Karen Cocq, organizer with the Workers' Action Centre and the Fight for $15 & Fairness campaign. Karen will discuss their approach to community organizing, movement building and the opportunities and challenges of the current political context.

All are welcome!

Accessibility: The entrance is barrier-free (no stairs; automatic doors) and there are two gender-neutral washrooms. We ask folks to avoid wearing strong scents.

About Karen Cocq
Karen Cocq is an organizer with the Workers' Action Centre and the Fight for $15 & Fairness campaign, based in Ottawa. She is active in local efforts to build a broad-based fight back against the Ford government, and has been active in migrant justice, anti-poverty, and labour struggles for almost two decades.
