Evening Lecture: Building A Missional Parish

Pierre-Alain Giffard

Date: April 25, 2018, from 7 to 8 p.m.

A recording of this presentation is available here.

The missional renewal of parishes is one of the main concerns of traditional churches today (Anglicans, Catholics, Lutherans, United Church, etc.). But the way to organize parishes to achieve this goal remains vague, if not completely unknown, to many pastors and parishioners. This webinar explores a list of pastoral orientations that make parishes missional, welcoming, socially engaging and spiritually nourishing.

Biography

Dr. Pierre-Alain Giffard is a specialist in church growth, particularly at the parish level. He is the author of the book La croissance de l'Eglise : outils et réflexions pour dynamiser nos paroisses (Church growth: tools and reflections to empower our parishes) (Éditions des Béatitudes, 2012). Prior to his work at Saint Paul University, he worked as director of pastoral services in two dioceses. He has also lived in China, where he started and ran a distribution company with his wife, Mary. He firmly believes that parishes can become both missional and relevant in today's culture, and can continue to be instruments of God for the healing, salvation and blessing of the world.

This lecture will be presented at Saint Paul University and by webcast simultaneously.
