Congratulations to Odair Camati of Brazil, recipient of a scholarship from Global Affairs Canada!

Odair Camati, a doctoral student in philosophy, has been awarded a $9,700 scholarship through the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) sponsored by Global Affairs Canada. He is studying at Saint Paul University under the supervision of Sophie Cloutier, associate professor of philosophy and public ethics. Odair is interested in multiculturalism, particularly in the approach of two Canadian philosophers, Charles Taylor and Will Kymlicka.

“I chose Canada for its multiculturalism, and for the international reputation of the work of Canadian authors in the field. Living and studying in Canada will be a very positive experience for me, both personally and academically,” said Odair. This is his first visit to Canada and he is looking forward to exploring our culture, behaviours, religions and political philosophy.

Congratulations, Odair, and best wishes for success in your research!
