As Conflict Studies flourishes as an academic discipline that offers both practical application and the ability to influence
policy change, the symposium theme will explore contemporary theoretical developments within the field. The topics
of this symposium will focus on the critical analysis of traditional frameworks of analysis and conflicting theories; the
emerging dimensions of conflict, such as the environment, human security, multiculturalism and ideology; the development of Conflict Studies as a university discipline; and/or any other subject relating to contemporary perspectives in conflict.
