Summary
The talk will look at the 2019 changes to the Pontifical Secret as applied in penal cases and consider their impact on the conduct of canonical penal proceedings - in particular, the question of what confidences still bind the participants in canonical proceedings and potential interactions with civil law (especially as it concerns common law countries).
Biography
Fr Justin Glyn SJ, BA, LL.B, Ph.D, B.Theol (Hons), M.T.S, JCL/MCL is a Jesuit priest and lawyer admitted to practice in Australia (with previous practice experience in South Africa and New Zealand). He is General Counsel to the Australian Province of the Society of Jesus and lecturer at Catholic Theological College (University of Divinity - Melbourne).
