The tragedy of sexual abuse in the Church has finally received worldwide recognition. In response to this shocking crisis, various dioceses and countries have responded in different ways. This webinar will attempt to look at the responses in Canada over the last 30 years and see where we can go now.

Biography
Bishop Robert Bourgon, Bishop of Hearst/Moosonee, was born in Sudbury, Ontario, in 1956. He studied at St. Peter’s Seminary in London and was ordained a priest in 1981 and a bishop in 2016. He studied canon law at Saint Paul University and obtained a doctorate there. He has been a parish priest, Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie as well as Vicar General and Chancellor. He has had some experience in handling these painful cases. He is still involved in trying to heal this great hurt to our people and the Church.
