Call for Workshop, Poster and Art Expressions Submissions: The Creative Therapies in the Helping Relationship: Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care

Conference Date: March 1–3, 2018

Saint Paul University, Ottawa

This refereed conference theme is The Creative Therapies in the Helping Relationships: Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care. While many think of talk therapies when they think of psychotherapy, counselling, and spiritual care, there are many more ways to express and share beyond words and speaking. The creative therapies and art can enhance, deepen, and access feelings and transcendence in unique ways in the helping relationship. This conference invites presenters to teach and demonstrate ways the creative therapies and arts have expanded the helping relationship. These workshop presentations are expected to present perspectives from theory, practice and research with reference to the use of various creative therapies in different therapeutic approaches in the helping relationships. Workshop presenters are also asked to prepare a scholarly paper, written in a style that is accessible for researchers, clinicians, students, and professionals working in the field of psychotherapy, pastoral counselling, and spiritual care. It is the organizers hope to combine the papers into an edited book.

Hosted by:

  • Saint Paul University, Ottawa, School of Counselling, Psychotherapy and Spirituality
