A few tips on how to be productive during study week

Manage your time by planning your schedule wisely
Creating a schedule allows you to put on paper everything that's in your head. This helps you avoid forgetting to do various tasks and gives you a feeling of control over your life.
It is very difficult to follow a schedule that does not fit your personal rhythm, or that is too rigid or too crammed. More often than not, this kind of schedule leads to discouragement and is quickly set aside.
Plan your schedule in a realistic way by including breaks and times for you. That way, you will get a lot of studying done as well as having some downtime.

Choose your place to study
Home is not always the best place to study. Why not check out different locations? For example, try Café qui pense (across the street from SPU), the new study spaces in the renovated cafeteria, or of course the Library! Don't hesitate to move to a new space during the week or even within the same day!
Did you know that the SPU Library has plenty of quiet corners and small rooms? A member of the team can show you - just ask at the circulation desk.

Tune out distractions
Everyone is on social media, but did you know that your phone has a "Do not disturb" feature? It allows you not to receive notifications when this feature is turned on. Don't worry: your notifications won't disappear, but you won't hear a sound every time a friend comments on your latest photo or calls you on WhatsApp from a country that is warmer than here. Plus you can set up exceptions, such as your mom's number ;).

Eat well, sleep and move!
It has been proven that that eating well reduces the risk of getting sick and makes you more productive. But what does it mean to eat well? Canada's Food Guide recommends eating fruits and vegetables, grain products, meat and alternatives, and of course, milk and alternatives. For more details, check out the Guide. Be creative and enjoy yourself!

Have a good week!
