Goal:
This conference will mobilize evidence-based knowledge on the conceptualization of psychological suffering and treatment modalities considering socio-cultural perspectives of Africa, it will seek to raise awareness among the public at large and bring answers to questions faced by mental health professionals, community/social group leaders and members, individuals facing mental health challenges, and educators.
Subthemes:
- General understanding of mental health challenges through the lens of culture in Africa;
- Treatment modalities and their relevance in Africa and among the African diaspora: Challenges and contributions;
- Converging views on mental health challenges and treatment modalities: Cross-cultural and cross-continental perspectives
- Systemic and Institutional views on mental health challenges and treatment: Families, Schools, Faith, and Social organisations.
Submission details:
- Abstracts must be no longer than 250 words and in English. Submit electronically by May 31st, 2023.
